How to use Relugoren Tab 1*28tab
Take one tablet once daily , preferably at approximately the same time every day, with or without food.
Treatment should be started as directed by your doctor. According to the product information, treatment should be started as early as possible after the beginning of menstruation and no later than 7 days after menstruation starts .
Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew it unless specifically advised by your doctor.
The recommended maximum treatment duration is 24 months , unless your doctor advises otherwise.
How Relugoren Tab 1*28tab works
Relugolix is a GnRH receptor antagonist. It blocks GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, which reduces the release of LH and FSH. This lowers ovarian estrogen production and helps reduce hormone-dependent activity associated with uterine fibroids.
Estradiol provides a low dose of estrogen to help reduce symptoms associated with excessive estrogen suppression and help protect bone health.
Norethindrone Acetate is a progestogen that helps stabilize and protect the lining of the uterus while estradiol is being given.
Together, these three ingredients help reduce heavy menstrual bleeding and other symptoms associated with uterine fibroids.
If you miss a dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time.
Do not take two tablets together to make up for a missed dose.
Safety advice
Pregnancy
Do not take Relugoren if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant. Your doctor may perform a pregnancy test before starting treatment.
Relugoren should not be used during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. Your doctor will decide whether Relugoren is appropriate for you.
Blood Clots
Medicines containing estradiol and norethindrone may increase the risk of blood clots.
Seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, coughing up blood, severe headache, vision problems, or painful swelling/redness of one leg.
Bone Health
Relugolix lowers estrogen levels and prolonged treatment may reduce bone mineral density. Your doctor may assess your bone health and may recommend calcium and vitamin D supplementation when appropriate.
Liver Problems
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease or have previously experienced jaundice or other liver problems.
Unexplained Vaginal Bleeding
Tell your doctor about any unexplained vaginal bleeding before starting treatment.
Mood Changes
Tell your doctor if you experience significant changes in mood, depression, anxiety, or unusual changes in behaviour.
